Sean M. Lang, IP, RRO: Sean is a Journeyman Roofer with an Inter-Provincial (IP) roofing certification ticket in roofing and waterproofing, and is a Registered Roof Observer (RRO) accredited by the Roof Consultants Institute. He started his career in 1989 working as a labourer at a lower mainland roofing firm, working the gravel pile, running the kettle, applying roofing material, learning all the "ins and outs" and "tricks" roofers use. Sean worked his way up from there to becoming the President of Inter-Provincial Roof Consultants Ltd.

During his career he worked on all types of roof systems, either as an applicator, or as a repair technician. He quickly became foreman of crews he worked on, providing in-house quality assurance for the companies he worked for. With strong leadership qualities, calm demeanour, and the ability to find solutions quickly to almost any issue, he was able to apply the practical knowledge he gathered over his years of roofing to become an expert roof consultant.

As well as owning and managing Inter-Provincial Roof Consultant Ltd., Sean sits on the Technical Committee for the Roofing Contractors Association of BC, and is on the board of directors for the Western Canada Chapter of the Roof Consultants Institute.

David R. Guthrie, AT, RRO: Dave has been involved in the roofing and waterproofing industry since 1974. He began by earning an Associate in Technology (AT) diploma in Construction Management. From there he moved into roofing material sales, eventually becoming a technical sales representative for a major distribution firm. This was followed by a move to estimating at a prominent roofing firm in the lower mainland, becoming Chief Estimator. Project management was his next career challenge, employed by major roofing contractors to oversee their operations.

In 1996 Dave made the decision to move into Roof Consulting. He secured his designation as a Registered Roof Observer (RRO) and began observing roof applications, writing Condition Reports, and writing roof replacement Specifications for all types of industrial, institutional, commercial, and residential roofing.

As Senior Consultant, Dave's extensive knowledge of roofing materials and application, as well as knowledge of the scope and inner mechanisms of the roofing industry, provide a solid foundation for him to provide the kind of advice clients require.

Mike Kosman, TQ, RRO: Mike began his roofing career in 1981 and put in 20 years at a reputable RCABC roofing company where he earned his Tradesman Qualification (TQ). His tenure included application and repair of various roofing materials as well as foreman and in-house quality assurance duties.

After working at two other large roofing contractors, he accepted a position at IPRC in 2007 as a Roof Consultant/Roof Observer. His attention to detail, conscientious attitude, and hard earned knowledge of roofing have made him fit seamlessly into the position.

Dana Lavery, IP, RRO: In 1975 Dana began his roofing career as a shingle subcontractor with various roofing companies. He holds a BC Residential Steep Roofing Ticket as well as an Inter-Provincial (IP) roofing certification ticket.

Dana has knowledge and experience in both Residential and Commercial roofing with shakes and asphalt shingles, EPDM, torch-on, tar and gravel, and metal work detail. He has worked as a full time Roof Observer since 2001 with our firm, acquiring his Registered Roof Observer (RRO) designation in 2002.

Brad Semon, TQ, RRO: Brad has been involved in the roofing and waterproofing industry since 1982. He has earned his Tradesman Qualification (TQ) and is an accepted Observer of the Roofing Contractors Association of BC (RCABC).

Brad worked for many roofing companies as lead hand, foreman, and estimator. He has experience in all forms of roofing, waterproofing, and sheet metal installation. Brad joined our team as a full time Roof Observer in 2006 and manages our dispatch system.

Malcolm Pilgrim, IP, RRO: Malcolm joined our team in 2009 and has brought over 20 years of roofing experiance with him. Malcom has worked across Canada in the roofing industry, working on both flat and sloped roofing projects, before he decided to apply his practical knowledge to the consulting field. Malcolms calm, reserved demeanor makes him easy to get along with for both clients and roofing contractors.
